Conquering Sin

Sanctification is the process of being set apart for God’s purposes and becoming holy as He is holy. To conquer sin, we must consider ourselves dead to sin and cast off all sinful behaviors, including both sexual sins and social sins like anger, malice, and lying. This battle between flesh and Spirit requires intentional action: spending time with God, yielding to the Holy Spirit, memorizing Scripture, and remembering our new identity in Christ. Conquering sin isn’t optional for believers—it’s essential for honoring God, maintaining our witness, and experiencing the fullness of God’s presence.
