God
There is only one living and true God. He is all-knowing, all-powerful and everywhere. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 45:5; Isaiah 57:15; 1 John 4:9
Father
As Father, He provides, loves, disciplines and freely offers grace to us through faith in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 19:1-3; John 4:24; Ephesians 4:6
Son
Jesus Christ is the perfect representation of the Father in human form, both fully human and fully divine. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. In death, He was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. He rose from the dead after three days and, a short time later, ascended to Heaven where He reigns. He will return one day and, in the meantime, lives in the lives of all Christians.
Mark 1:1; John 1:1-18; John 1:29; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 3:23-26; 1 Peter 3:22
Holy Spirit
He lives within each Christian to inspire, guide, convict of sin and give abilities and spiritual gifts for carrying out the work of the church.
John 14:16-17; John 4:26; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:31
Man
Man is the special creation of God, in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. … The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore every person of every race possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Genesis 1:26-28; Romans 5:6; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-22
Salvation
God reconciling humanity to Himself. The solution to overcoming the death penalty of sin is to acknowledge the need for God, turn from sin, believe that Christ is Savior and publicly confess Jesus as Lord. There is no other way to mend your relationship with God. Once salvation occurs, it can never be taken away or lost.
Romans 5:8-10; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:8-22; 1 John 1:6-2:11
Baptism
An outward expression of an inward change and commitment that has occurred in the life of a believer. Baptism pictures Christ’s death and resurrection through immersion into water. It is not a means of salvation.
Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; Acts 8:35-39
The Lord’s Supper
A symbolic remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice. The bread and cup represent the body and blood of Christ. Those who have accepted Christ as Savior and Lord participate in the Lord’s Supper during periodic observances.
Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
Church
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. In such a congregation each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.
Acts 2:41-42; Acts 2:47; Acts 6:3-6; Acts 13:1-3; Acts 14:23; Acts 14:27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Colossians 1:18
Who Is Jesus?
Our church is centered on the foundational truth that everything we do, and the very reason for our existence, stems from God’s incredible gift of forgiveness through His son Jesus. Above all else, we want you to grasp the profound love God has for you and the purpose He has for your life. It’s common for individuals to seek God’s approval through various means such as rule-following, religious services, or being morally upright. However, the ultimate path to a fulfilling life and an eternal future in heaven lies in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
God loves you
God’s love extends to every individual, and He desires unbroken fellowship with each person (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5).
You are a sinner
All individuals are considered sinners, choosing their own ways over obedience to God (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10).
Sin separates you from God
Sin creates a barrier that prevents unbroken fellowship with God, leading toward a Christless eternity known as Hell (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23).
You can’t save yourself
Efforts to overcome the sin barrier are insufficient. Salvation is a gift from God, unearned by human actions (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5).
God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier
Jesus Christ has bridged the gap by taking on the punishment for sin and has satisfied God’s justice, providing a way for restored relationship with God (1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9).
You can receive Jesus Christ through faith
Faith involves trusting in Jesus’ work rather than personal efforts, allowing Christ to live through you. It also includes genuine repentance and a willingness to turn away from sin (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 3:19).
Through prayer, you can trust in Jesus Christ
Acknowledge your sinfulness, express repentance, ask for forgiveness, invite Jesus into your life, and commit to living for Him.
If you’ve just prayed to receive Christ, please call us at (850) 638-1830 or reach out via email. We are here to support you on this transformative lifelong journey after accepting Christ, and we look forward to assisting you in your growth.
