Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
As our state and country begin the process of reopening, our staff is preparing a phased reopening plan that mirrors the strategy outlined by the government. We hope to progress to the other stages every few weeks in accordance with the guidance from the CDC.
(Latest Update: May 31, 2020 @ 9:00 AM)
Has the church resumed in-person gatherings?
We resumed in-person gatherings on Sunday, May 31st. Currently, no connect groups are meeting on campus. We have two services (9:00 AM and 10:30 AM) and may consider an additional service if necessary to comply with social distancing. As before the pandemic, we will continue to have online services available.
We continue to monitor and evaluate the COVID situation in this ever-changing environment.
Do regular activities look different?
Our in-person gatherings feel the same, but the way we interact with each other will be a little different for a while. We’re going to continue to modify the parts of our services that required physical contact before (such as passing the offering plate and greeting each other with handshakes), and we’re doing everything we can to keep our facilities clean and safe. Even if you see more face masks (and a lot more hand sanitizer), when we gather together again in-person, we hope it will feel like coming home.
What about our annual summer events?
Due to so many unknowns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and after much prayer, it was decided that we would not host Vacation Bible School. In addition, our children and student ministries will not be attending any summer camps this year, but ministry leaders are looking for other ways to connect over the summer.
Lastly, all of our summer mission trips scheduled for this year have been canceled. We will have more information about mission opportunities in the coming months.

A Note About Giving
If you’re a regular giver, please continue to be faithful with your generosity at First Baptist Chipley. You may not know this, but it’s difficult to recover from just one missed Sunday for the rest of the year. Your weekly gifts are a vital resource that allows us to continue the work that God has called us to do, and our in-person Sunday services only represent a small portion of that work. When you continue to give, your gifts allow us to maintain critical ministries that many depend on.
You can give online anytime at http://firstbaptistchipley.com/giving/ or by texting “GIVE” to (850) 250-2757. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to give!
We encourage you not to let these circumstances negatively affect your spiritual habits. Our staff will be working in the coming days to prepare more online opportunities and resources if these cancellations become prolonged.
